One photographer I've been a fan of for several years now is Fan Ho. He started shooting in Hong Kong when he was only around 16 years old, creating insane high-contrast black and white images that captured light in perfect ways. It's often so hard to depict light as it is seen to the naked eye, and Fan Ho seems to be able to do this, but then go an extra step, and present light to us as an almost idealized vision. I think one way I can take inspiration from Fan Ho in this time is making use of the way he singles out his subject; especially at a time when social distancing is key, I have noticed from my own roof the way people are spread out on sidewalks, and how, when it is almost evening, I can capture them in a sliver of light that casts long shadows across the road.
