Zdzisław Beksiński

Zdzislaw Bksinski was a polish painter and photographer who was described as the "nightmare artist." His photos were self described "anti-photography," meant to contrast against the "pure photography" movement Ansel Adams was a part of. His paintings are what he is really known for, especially the ones selected below, part os his "Fantastics" series. He refused to give his paintings meaning or explanation, saying that he himself had no idea what they meant, and refused to allow for interpretations by critics. I really admire this, I feel like now we are in a age of hyper interoperation, where any art that could possible have no meaning is dubbed worthless.
