Fred Herzog, Lily Jurman

Fred Herzog is a photographer who walked around Vancouver in the 1950s and 1960s and captured street scenes. He used Kodachrome Color Slide film, which was the first color film to print with the kind of saturated color you see in these photos. I really like his prints because they are vibrant and the photos capture amazing moments, small everyday moments that have a surprising impact. All of the photos also contain red and orange shades in them, which I find interesting. I am unsure if he did this on purpose or if the environment just happened to have a lot of reds.
